Broomy Hill, Hereford HR4 0LJ

Sunday 9th September

Meet 10.00am for coffee at The Fairview Gardener, Chapel Lane, Birdwood, Churcham, GL2 8AR

Prior to prompt 10.45am departure on a scenic run to Hereford.

The original pumping station was built in 1856 and subsequently extended several times.

It now houses an abundance of exhibits telling the story of the supply of water, including a two-storey high triple expansion steam pumping engine and an 1851 Harvey's of Hayle beam engine pump. Little known hot-air engines also feature and there should be a steam road roller in attendance.

Admission on this day is free of charge and is one of their "In Steam" days.

Further details can be found on the museum website www.waterworksmuseum.org.uk
