Euromeet 2018 - Germany

The TR Register Deutschland e.V. are hosting the 2018 European Meeting in Bremerhaven and Papenburg. The Classic Weekend starts on Friday 14th September in the Hotel Alte Werft, Papenburg with a welcome party and dinner. The hotel is built on the site of the former machine shops of the Meyer Werft shipyards. After breakfast on Saturday morning there will be drive to the historic town of Leer where lunch will be served on a boat in the harbour. After a scenic drive back to Papenburg, dinner will be in the Old Shipyard. On Sunday morning, after breakfast, there will be short bus ride and a tour of the modern Meyer Shipyards where there will be a number of large vessels under construction. The bus will return us to the hotel for a light lunch and farewell to all our friends new and old.
For those people wanting to spend more time in this part of Germany, then a Super Weekend is available. The Super Weekend will start on Wednesday 12th September in Bremerhaven. There is a choice of hotels offered, as neither is big enough for everybody, the Atlantic or the Nordsee. The hotels are 5 minutes walk from each other with the secure parking for all cars in between. The Atlantic is on the waterfront, whereas the Nordsee is a few streets back, hence the price difference but they are both 4 Star hotels. The Atlantic is now full so only the Nordsee is available. After check-in there is a dinner at the Blattlaus, a short walk away. On Thursday there is a choice of sightseeing tours offered but you are asked to make your selection at registration so spaces can be booked. The first choice is the Auswandererhaus and Schiffahrtsmuseum; the second being the Klimahaus and Zoo am Meer. Please Google these and make your selection on the form. They are all walking distance from the hotels. Dinner will be at the Strandhalle, a local waterfront restaurant. Check-out will be after breakfast on the Friday morning. On leaving Bremerhaven, we will first take a ferry across the river Weser for a scenic drive to Papenburg, stopping for a light lunch en-route. We will arrive at the hotel in Papenburg at the same time as those joining for the Classic Weekend.

For those people who have never participated in a European meeting before, it is a great way to see a new part of Europe and experience some local culture in the company of like minded people from across Europe. Driving the roads that only the locals know and visiting the best sights and learning some history or having a new experience. It is relaxed and friendly with many opportunities to meet new people and make new friends.
In order to reserve your place on the Classic or Super weekend, please download the registration form from the members only section here. Please fill this in and email it to Mick Forey at international@tr-register.co.uk. Please send £100 deposit to the office by bank transfer, cheque or call them with your card details. Reservations will be taken in the order of receipt of BOTH the form and deposit. First come, first served. There are only 150 rooms available, of which, only 34 are allocated to the UK contingent. So please make your reservation as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Final payment is due by 1st March. As stated on the form I have used a forward exchange rate to calculate the Sterling value of the Euro based costs. However, if the Pound/Euro exchange rate varies from this forecast then I may be able to give you a rebate or sadly be asking for more money. I will advise you in February if there is a difference, when I remind you to pay the balance.
