Fish & Chip run
An October Fish and Chip run
At our last meeting we all decided that at the first opportunity we would have our last run of 2017, and Sunday the 15th, proved to be a good day to pick.
Meeting as normal at the "Trent Port", was made all the better by seeing Martin and Sue in their TR2, Martins first outing in his car since his recent operation. He had only started the car the night before, after having it stood for over a year, but it proved to be its normal reliable self.
The day proved to be dry and even sunny by the afternoon, and a total of six cars arrived there. Many of our members have already laid up their cars for the winter; only the "die hards" were still available for the run.
The run was through Gainsborough and onto Cleethorpes, using only the older roads, to make the journey more enjoyable.
There were a lot of modern cars, along the sea front; bur Martin found us a special "private" place for us all to park.
We were very lucky to get tables in our favourite restaurant, and a walk on the pier set us all up for a gentle run home, in the warm afternoon.
It was very good to have the chance to have a good social outing, before the colder days start, and force us to lay up our cars until 2018.
