Farming Yesteryear 2015
Farming Yesteryear Scone Sunday 13th of September.
My day started off, not on a positive note, with a breakdown on my way. I had to change back to points to get the car running. The weather stayed dry until late afternoon, providing us with a sunny day for the event which was being held for the thirtieth time. As usual this event was very well supported by members who travelled great distances from all points of the compass. The cars on display varied from Bill Gardener`s award winning TR3 to Chris Donnachie`s newly restored TR7 V8 which was stunning with its' motorsport colour scheme. Also on the stand were lots of TR6`s in many different colours, two TR4`s and a Swallow Doretti. There were lots of stands to keep most of our members occupied when they were fed up of all the car talk. I went home with my usual two bottles of Cairn O Mohr wine and a couple of useful tools. Unfortunately towards the end of the afternoon the weather did turn with some rain spoiling a great day. The long hold ups leaving the show ground meant it turned out to be a very long day. We all found it hard to believe this event completes the car season show for most of us.
