9th April was the date of the first run of the year on a hot, sunny day with tops down. Seven cars turned out to meet at Darlington for a run through the dales to Catterick Garrison and Foxglove nature reserve. An enjoyable visit including watching birds being ringed and a 2 hour walk round the reserve ending with Sunday lunch. Thanks to Trevor Teeley for organising the day.
17th April – Croft Easter Monday Sprint. Although a qualifying round of the Revington TR/TR Register Championship, the TR class had only 3 entries as there was a clashing qualifying round at Goodwood on the same weekend. Chris Burbury made a return to competition with the TR5 he had not used since 2010 and unfortunately suffered starter motor problems which restricted him to a single competition run. Yours truly managed the class win in the TR6 with Bob Barnard's lovely TR4 in second.
23rd April – Drive it Day saw a run from Stokesley, along with Northumbria Group, on a scenic route in sunny weather planned by Allen and Judy, to meet up with members from EasTRiding and Vale of York at Thorpe Perrow Arboretum. We stopped on the way to admire the spectacular, panoramic view of Teesside from Lord Stones at the top of a very steep climb above Carlton-in-Cleveland. At Thorpe Perrow, in addition to woodland walks among wonderful trees, there is a wildlife centre which, in addition to meerkats, houses birds of prey, wallabies and several varieties of farm animal.
