Brecon Classic Motor Show
Some of us have attended this relatively new show before, and hoped that the weather would stay clear to make the most of the stunning setting. The Beacon Park Mountain Centre is a short distance from Libanus, and looks directly over to Pen-y-fan and Corn Du, the 2 highest mountains in the Brecon Beacons - as a hill walker / mountaineer, I just love this view!
The day didn't start on a promising note, with grey skies, misty tops & a very cold wind, but by around 12 - 1 o'clock, the sun popped through, the mist cleared and all was well with the world - well, except for those who'd expected warmer temperatures! A fine collection of vintage and classic cars and bikes were on show, and inquisitive and chatty visitors from far and wide made for a very enjoyable experience, and a good way to raise much needed funds for Wales Air Ambulance.
In all, 10 Wye Dean members attended, with 4 TRs in evidence - John & Celia had an 'event' on the way up from Porthcawl when the surrey top on their car decided to detach itself, resulting in Celia having to hang onto it for some considerable distance! I've no doubt she'll fill us in on the details when we next meet!
