GL Stan Lowe writes: "I am typing this with a smile on my face as two hours ago my TR6 passed its MOT. However when the tester came to remove the car off the lift the starter clicked! After the usual tapping the motor with a small hammer nothing happened! Perhaps a larger hammer? Still nothing happened. So a bit of shorting the solenoid got it started. When I got it home I cleaned all the terminals on the starter motor, the solenoid and the battery bingo! Cured. A lot cheaper and quicker than replacing the starter motor.

We held our monthly meeting last night April 14th. Due to people being on holiday and two members in bed suffering from back trouble! we were down to 19 members. We had a good meeting and the Buffers restaurant was excellent, thanks to Barrie Simkin for organizing it.

By the time you read this we will have had our Spring Clean Run. This is Keith and Jane West's first go at organizing a run and it looks like it is going to be a cracker. I hope the weather is good for them.

We had to postpone our planned trip to the Robin Hood Air Port to see the Avro Vulcan bomber; however Ian Meeson says he will plan another visit later in the year.

Ken and Jan Bailey's daughter Emma is getting married to Richard Smith on May 3rd. Keith George is loaning them his Triumph 2500 TC for the occasion so he is busy preparing it, although from the photograph it looks in very good condition. Keith bought the car last July. It has been off the road since 2004. It too passed its mot test last week (see the photo).

We are all looking forward to getting the taxable cars taxed on May 1st and hitting the roads again."
