TR Action 294 report

TR Action 294 report

Sadly by the time you all read this report it will be November and the Summer will be well and truly a distant memory. Not a brilliant Summer in North Wales for TRs but even so we managed to get out and about and enjoyed the sun when it decided to appear.

The 13th August saw the annual Betws y Coed car show attended by some of our members. A lovely warm day which was the beginning of a really hot week. Plenty of different cars on display with Barry and Sandra winning a prize for their TR3.

The Gold Cup at Oulton Park was well attended by North Wales members and is always a highlight of our event calendar.

Our usual monthly meeting on Sunday 4th September was replaced with a run organised by Barry and Sandra starting at the Toby Carvery in Hoole. Graham as usual having to have his cooked breakfast as he doesn't get fed at home! 13 Cars set off for a run through the lovely Cheshire countryside passing through some beautiful villages. The first stop was Frodsham Hill and the Mersey View, fantastic panoramic views of Liverpool and the estuary. Unfortunately on our way to Anderton Boat Lift, shortly after this stop, Barry's TR (which won a prize in the Betws y Coed show) decided an early pit stop was required. Troops rallied as usual, donning hi viz jackets and soon had his TR firing on all four cylinders! Thanks to all who helped out. We arrived at Anderton Boat Lift for our picnic lunch and also a very interesting trip on the boat lift itself. On leaving the Anderton Boat Lift we travelled to Jodrell Bank for a coffee stop ending the day with a meal at the Royal Oak in Kelsall. Thanks to Barry and Sandra for organising a lovely run and day out.
