TR Action 299

TR Action 299

Devon Group was out in force at the recent Killerton House Classic Car Show, arranged by the National Trust. The weather cleared nicely in time for the Sunday and a lovely sunny and fresh day was enjoyed by all. As well as flying the Devon Group flag, we set off our display with some colourful bunting that made our line-up even more attractive. Phil Board, who joined the TR Register last year, came along with his very nice TR3A. Welcome Phil, it was nice to meet you and to see your lovely car. Rod from Honiton was happy to tell us about a few jobs he's doing to make his TR6 even better and Paul Gibson has successfully put a few miles onto his rebuilt engine in his TR6 too.

Attendance at our Friday meetings continues to be steady and recently, we've had Phil and Trish attend both Willand and Woodland giving their well known TR3A 'UPJ' and his more recent Dorreti a bit of a run – nice to see you both.

Our local 'In the Garage' newsletter goes from strength to strength with lots of stories of our activities behind those garage doors down in Devon as well as a few more technical articles coming in, especially from our local expert Dennis!

Father's Day saw a number of TR's joining the TSSC at Buckfastleigh Steam Railway centre where we held a local display and made a collection on behalf of Devon Freewheelers and Rowcroft Hospice and as well as enjoying our picnics and snacks in the rose garden and the chance to watch and enjoy the steam trains moving around after starting the day with a hearty cooked breakfast. Thank you to Jane & Anna for making the arrangements.

Finally, on a more sad note, I have just heard that our previous Group Leader, Allen Malpass, has passed away. Allen was very active in the development of the Devon Group in the mid 80's and a number of our current members will have fond memories of him from that time.
