South Downs - CHISLEHURST CAVES

South Downs - CHISLEHURST CAVES

FULLY SUBSCRIBED - NO MORE ENTRIES AVAILABLE

A labyrinth of man-made tunnels covering over 6 Hectares. They were dug for chalk used in lime burning and brick making for the building of London and also flints to fire the tinderboxes and flintlock guns of years ago but have also had many other uses over the years.

We will drive up there in the morning for a guided tour starting at 1-15pm and lasting about 50 minutes. There is a café on site. After the tour, the plan is to drive south to the Westerham locality for a pub meal (this is optional).

Final details regarding meet up points & times, travelling together routes and pub venue confirmation will depend on where participating folk are coming from and numbers wanting to eat. At this stage, I'd estimate that you would need to be meeting up about 10-30am in the morning.
