Red Rose Bulletin - September 2022
Hello everyone,
Well, I think the summer is almost over! The nights are drawing in and the leaves are starting to fall, but as ever there is still lots going on here at Red Rose.
AUGUST ROUND UP
AUGUST MEETING
As is usual for August this was a fairly quiet meeting but quite a few members braved the soaring temperatures. Hopes were high when the pub announced they were doing sandwiches due to the heat however they fell far short of expectation!
We have taken onboard all the feedback from Red Rose members regarding the issues with food at The Cock at Budworth and we are seriously looking into an alternative venue.
Thank you to everyone who has made suggestions we will look into all of them and report back.
Due to low numbers and the heat, we kept things brief, even Jonathan stuck to his agenda! Well just about!
We decided to forego the raffle till next month and set off on the run, six cars then had a short but very nice run to the Swettenham Arms, Arboretum and Lavender Gardens where they managed to get 3 tables in the shade for a drink, before some ventured on to walk around the Arboretum.
Big thank you to Richard and Sian for volunteering once again to organise a run it is as always very much appreciated.
TR INTERNATIONAL RE BOOTED!
Despite the last-minute cancellation of the International Weekend a fantastic day was had by all when they joined TS2 at the Great British Car Journey.
Six Red Rose members entered their cars for the Pride of Ownership and Concourse events and they all came home with some very nice silverware! Congratulations to all of them on their very well-deserved awards.
If you haven’t visited The Great British Car Journey yet I would highly recommend it.

We have sadly received news today that Nigel Bancroft has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family and any of our members that knew Nigel.
I thought it only fitting to include him and his TR in the list of prize winners above.
This certainly wasn’t the event we had all hoped for but it was a great opportunity to meet up with fellow TR owners from all over Europe. Fingers crossed for next year!
ALPACA PICNIC FEST
A small group of Red Rose members enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon and evening at The Alpaca Picnic Fest. There was live music and plenty of classic cars to look at.
The event was in memory of Viv Ash and all money raised was for The East Cheshire Hospice.
Do not be fooled by the cute face! This one was definitely hissing at Carole!

COAST TO COAST
The route and runs are currently being planned and will be available very soon. We will email details to all those who are going.
Mike and Pauline have had to pull out so if you would like to go in their place, please email us asap at trredrose@hotmail.com before the hotel reservations are cancelled.
PROPOSED CLASSIC LE MANS TRIP 2023 (29th June - 3rd July)
We currently have eight lots of people who are interested with a combination of singles and couples. Jonathan is currently looking into packages and costs and will update all those who have expressed an interest with options shortly.
