Red Rose Cock at Budworth meeting and Quiz - 10th November
Why not come and join us for what is now a Red Rose institution hosted as always by the one and only David Rhodes. This is not your average pub quiz I can assure you! This is a very popular event so arrive early to stake your place.
Red Rose Cock at Budworth meeting /Christmas Lunch - 9th December
This year we will again be having Christmas lunch at The Cock @ Budworth. We have had very positive feedback after last year’s Christmas lunch and there are only a small number of places left. If you are planning on attending we need to know prior to Sunday 1st December at the very latest as only members who have reserved a place will be guaranteed a lunch. The cost per person is £12 for two course £15 for three courses with the remainder being subsidised by the club.
OCTOBER REVIEW
There is a definite feel of autumn in the air as I type this bulletin, the nights are drawing in and the shops are filled with advent calendars! Christmas isn’t far away and it’s time to think about what to get the TR owner in your life.
Sadly there was no Autumn Leaves run this year which has historically been a well attended event- Hopeful there will be some more support next year with a volunteer to organise the run so we can all enjoy our cars before the close of the season.
Our October meeting was well attended by lots of our regular members and some of our newer ones made a return visit! Nice to see we didn’t scare them off!
Our group leader Jonathan Smith updated us on various TR happenings, with much discussion regarding the venue for the 2020 International Weekend.
Bob Eccles our regional director informed every one of the plans for a regional event over the October bank holiday weekend to celebrate the TR Register’s 50th Anniversary next year. We intend to incorporate it with the Gold Cup at Oulton Park on the bank holiday Monday along with a selection of other events on the Saturday and Sunday. We are very keen to have feedback from Red Rose members on this so please email either Jonathan or Caroline at trredrose@hotmail.com with any thoughts or suggestions you may have or if you would be interested in attending the event.
We have already started to plan the events calendar for next year so if there is an event you would like included or you have a burning desire to organise an event or a post meeting run then please email us at trredrose@hotmail.co.uk.
Our deputy leader Tim has moved to pastures new and despite a few teething problems he and Karen are now settled into their new home
We now have vacancies for both a deputy leader and a new member’s secretary. We really do need you support to fill these roles sooner rather than later. Email Jonathan and Caroline at trredrose@hotail.com if you would be interested in taking up either role prior to our AGM on 12th January.
TR Register AGM Sunday 17th November – VOTING
As group leader of Red Rose I consider my role is to provide an environment where all TR Register members can enjoy their cars, as well as developing a social group based on friendship and mutual interest and also to promote the marque. This is something that the TR Register and its members have been doing successfully for almost 50 years and with the support of its members it will be able to continue fulfilling this role.
Hopefully you will all have received your copy of the latest TR Action which includes details of the AGM how to attend or alternatively register your vote on line.
Family remembers who have paid the family member rate are also eligible to vote at the AGM and the procedure is the same as the designated member.
It’s your club and all members should to review the details in TR Action or on the TR register website and if not attending the AGM register their proxy vote. Closing date for registering your attendance at the AGM is 8th November. The deadline for Proxy voting is 11am on Friday 15th November 2019 (48 hours before the meeting).
Red Rose Facebook Group
Thank you to those who have been contributing to the Red Rose Facebook page over the summer we have had quite a few new members join the group recently and those who have placed a post over the last year will be eligible for entry in the Red Rose prize draw which will take place at the AGM meeting on the 12th January.
We would very much like posts from anyone who has any works planned on their cars over the autumn / winter. We already have a post off Michael Biddulph who is part way through differential and gearbox replacement on his TR4A.
