Although we have had the hottest July day on record as I write, we also seem plagued by lots of rainy days, limiting the top-down fun usual for this time of year. We are enjoying, however, our monthly brunch run-outs, chosen by our media-guru, Steve Denton. On Sunday June 23rd Steve Denton, Danny and Jan Moody, John and Margaret Martin, Andy and Jennie Holyoak, Phil Gunn and I travelled as a Nene Valley/Leics combined group to Stoke Bruerne, a picturesque village south of Northampton that is situated on a lovely stretch of canal. The weather was good and we had a very nice pub brunch before strolling around and taking in the canal-side scenery. There is a canal museum, the usual locks and more than one good pub at the site so we had plenty to do.
On Wednesday July 3rd Mike Clarke, Steve Denton, John Hourd and I attended the Silverstone Classic Car group’s meeting at Turweston Airfield, nearBrackley. This was a great event with a wide variety of cars on display in an interesting setting-real and model aircraft were in flight. Practical Classics Magazine were there and our cars feature quite prominently on their website video, which they posted on Facebook:

All in all plenty going on and hoping for better weather before the summer is out!
