Social Scene Report 309
Hi fellow followers. It has been a quiet month. A group of us visited The Greetham Car meet on 16th August. This is a very successful evening car meet which is held monthly on the Greetham village sports field during the summer months. On our visit 200 odd classic cars were in attendance, together with many motor cycles. Besides the classic cars there was more modern examples of Mclaren, Ferrari, Maserati and Rolls Royce. Proceeds go to the Air Ambulance.
A small group enjoyed The Goodwood Revival, and several of our group went to the Steam Fayre and classic car show at Bicker (near Boston), hosted by Lincs group members Dave & Celia Dawson.
Sunday 9th September saw the Whittlesey Festival and Classic Car Show when the whole centre of the town is closed to traffic for the day. With 136 cars and a good selection of motorcycles on display together with seventy odd stalls, it was a very well attended event. There were also marching Bands, music and songs in the church and much more. (See Photo).
