Triumph TR4A
Reg: SRB326F
First registered: August 1967
Engine Size: 2138cc
Mileage: 47,498 miles
No. of owners: 4
Bought from Dave Bradbury in June 2013 for £11,000. The vehicle has been subject to major restoration work over the past decade at a cost of over £21,000.
In 2018 the vehicle was examined by Hagerty Insurance who described the vehicle as follows:
The chassis and body and all mechanicals are in very good condition. No rust. Paintwork sound but with some stone chips and evidence of ‘touch up’ paint having been applied. Bumpers removed and Triumph works replica spotlight bar added. O/s front indicator/sidelight body badly pitted. Engine, drivetrain and all mechanicals excellent. Carpets need replacing. Value including all influencing factors £26,500
Since then, the following restoration work has been carried out:
New sidelight/indicator (O/S) assembly
New carpet set and underfelt.
Stone chips remedied
Replacement halogen headlight assemblies
New chassis rail, brackets, fittings, breastplate
New boot floor
New wire wheels and tyres
In addition to the above remedial work has been carried out as required, including clutch master cylinder, new clutch assembly, replacement trunnions etc etc in order to keep the car in excellent condition.
The majority of the restoration and maintenance work has been undertaken by The Classic Car Workshop, Cockleberry Sawmill, West Lane, Dalton-on-Tees near Croft.
For insurance purposes, the car currently has an agreed value of £26,500.
VEHICLE CONDITION
The vehicle could not be said to be in ‘showroom condition’, as it is not concours but used regularly on the road. It is, however, in excellent condition both mechanically and in respect of bodywork, and far above average.
The car is used in the summer for various runs in the country including the annual ‘Coast to Coast’ run organised by the Lancashire Automobile Club. It is taken off the road and stored in a garage during the winter.
The car is priced at £18,000.
