From TR's to Pink Floyd: KVG discovering the Other Side of The Wall

Members of the Kennet Valley Group were delighted to attend this year's Middlewick House Garden Party, held at the former home of Queen Camilla and hosted by none other than Nick Mason, the drummer with the infamous Cosmic Rock Band, Pink Floyd. Set within the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, the event combined stunning gardens, exceptional cars and great company, all while raising valuable funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Bobby Van Trust.

The Kennet Valley Group was proud to field one of the largest and most diverse club displays at the event. Representing the Triumph marque were a rare in UK TR250, two TR6s, a beautifully presented TR3A and a striking TR7 V8 rally car replica finished in the iconic British Airways livery, which proved to be a real talking point throughout the day.

Supporting the Triumph display were several friends and family members with an equally impressive selection of British sports cars, including a Lotus Exige, TVR and MGB GT. Together, they created a wonderful display showcasing the breadth and appeal of British motoring heritage.

One of the major attractions of the day was the opportunity to explore Nick Mason's extraordinary vehicle collection. From the simplicity of an Austin 7 to the elegance and performance of Aston Martins, visitors were treated to an incredible journey through motoring history. The collection of rare children's pedal cars also drew plenty of admiration and smiles from visitors young and old alike.

Adding an extra touch of excitement, Nick Mason himself was present throughout the event, happily meeting visitors and signing copies of his books. Members who were fortunate enough to meet him commented on how approachable and generous he was with his time, making the experience even more memorable.

Visitors were also given a glimpse into Nick's recording studio, which housed a fascinating collection of Pink Floyd memorabilia. For music fans, this was every bit as exciting as the cars themselves. Seeing the memorabilia and artefacts associated with one of Britain's most influential rock bands provided a unique insight into another side of Nick's remarkable life and career.

The beautiful gardens of Middlewick House provided the perfect setting for the event, while the relaxed atmosphere encouraged owners and visitors alike to share stories, discuss restoration projects and enjoy a day amongst fellow enthusiasts. Whether your passion was classic cars, motorsport, music or simply supporting worthy causes, there was something for everyone.

Most importantly, the event raised valuable funds for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Bobby Van Trust, organisations that provide vital support and services throughout the region. The generosity of exhibitors, visitors and volunteers demonstrated once again the tremendous community spirit that exists within the classic car world.

The Kennet Valley Group extends its sincere thanks to Nick Mason and his team for their hospitality, and to all the organisers and volunteers who made the day such a success. With outstanding cars, beautiful surroundings, Pink Floyd history, and the chance to meet one of rock music's true legends, the Middlewick House Garden Party once again proved to be one of the highlights of the motoring calendar. It was a day enjoyed by all and one that will be remembered for many years to come.
