LVG members complete RBRR

Many TRR members take part in the Club Triumph bi annual Round Britain Reliability Run and this time Luke Searle and Luis Rizzo, two LVG Youth members took part in a TR3A.

No surprise that despite it not being a race, the boys were first back!!!  Over 100 Triumphs left Knebworth House at 6pm on Friday 6th October and headed up the A1 arriving at John o’Groats as the sun came up on Saturday morning. After a hearty breakfast, they set off for Lands End, arriving for an equally well deserved breakfast on Sunday morning. It is then a full day of driving to arrive back at Knebworth at 5.45pm. Around 2000 miles in just under 48 hours.

Despite the South of England having an unusually warm start to October, Scotland had a red weather warning for high winds, rain and single figure temperatures. The boys got absolutely soaked, and were extremely cold until they headed South and actually had the roof and widescreens down for most of the TRip. The car performed well and only needed a change of contact points, when rough running started in Scotland. It was probably rebelling against the bad weather at the time.

Two original RH drive TR8’s were also taking part, 43 years after they both completed the run in 1980

Well done Luke and Luis, next time (October 2025), they are talking of taking part again.
