LVG AMM & Kick Off Lunch

LVG celebrates its 50th year in 2023 and our Annual Members Meeting and Kick Off Lunch showed how buoyant the group remains. 33 attended, with a good dozen members absent as they are globe trotting after the last few years of Covid restrictions.

This year we say au revoir to 2 committee members. Jon Evans has taken on a new job and just won’t have the time to donate and Alison Payne has moved to Norfolk. Alison and her husband Roger have been great over the last few years assisting us with some IT improvements and also donating and organising a Photo of the year award. Alison is a good photographer and her photos will be sorely missed. We send all of them our best wishes for the future and we know Jon is still local and likely to assist, as his busy life allows.

Luke Searle with his newly acquired TR3A getting best new car to the Group award

Graham Teeson was a worthy recipient of the “Bent Conrod “ award for his help as a non committee member assisting, both at our Shine & Show and also planning TouRs.

Mike Aldridge won the best photo competition, with the image adorning the front page of the 2023 calendar (copies still available at the amazing price of £6 each 😉).

Tony Bannard Smith was in Melbourne, Australia, so couldn’t be present, but has agreed to join the committee and he will be a great addition to the LVG organisation.

Following the AMM, we held the traditional Kick Off Lunch. Everyone agreed that the Mount Pleasant Golf Club did us proud, with the food better than ever and great value. During the meal Alison ran a quiz with the subject 1973 and the photo below shows her putting her school teacher skills to good effect when giving the answers.

The customary raffle was very well supported and the funds raised will help support the group with all its 2023 ventures.
