TR Register Cumbria Group
"Si fractum non sit, noli id reficere"
Greetings Cumbria Group,
Newsletter 4/25
Let me straight away, ask you to join with me, in making some big Thank You’s’ Graham Dalzell, was responsible for everything to do with our brilliant trip to Northern Ireland in September, 10 cars ‘Crossed the Water’ and to say it was one of our best ever, shows you just what a grand job, Graham did. When you put this together with our April, Isle of Man Trip, organised by Peter and Nan, the consensus has to be that, ‘Cumbria group’ is at the very heart of what,
The TR Register is about, ‘Keeping the Marque Alive........... and using our cars!
...and this could not be without everyone who offers to help with the running of our group.
October saw a revised Autumn Leaves Run, moved from Sunday to Tuesday, and I do think Mid-Week, rather than Sunday runs needs a discussion, at our November meeting. They do allow us to enjoy virtual traffic free roads, in the ‘Honey Spots of the Lakes and Dales, as well as making things much easier to find a lunch spot happy to see us, - we had twenty one dining on October 7th!
I was also personally very happy to have long term Register Member, Michael Wallwork as my navigator on this. A warm welcome Michael, and I hope our chat spurred you on to getting stuck into your TR6!.
Now time to pull together the rest of 2025, and start to look towards next year:-
November 2nd is our regular planning meeting with lunch and a natter, at The Crooklands hotel. Peter Bonsall takes on the responsibility of organising this, and he has already emailed everyone with details of lunch etc. Just remember this is a day, Cash is Still King! One course £20 two £25, and if you have not already given Peter your choice(s) NOW is the time.
I also need to thank Peter, on behalf of the group, for the sterling efforts he has made, with much time spent, revising the group mailing and membership list to reconcile the clubs new ‘Sheep’ IT System, believe me, if this was down to me ...well it wouldn’t be getting done!
December and our final event of the year, ‘Poshus Noshus’ Lyzzic Hall Hotel, SATURDAY December 6th. We have our accounts man, ‘Par Ecellence’ Dave Couling to thank for organising this one.
Same format as in previous years, 12.30 for 1.00PM
The somewhat limited menu is attached, it is certainly simplified compared to previous years!
Discussing with Dave, if we make it £42.00 per head that includes a gratuity for the staff, pre-payment to the club account please referenced Lyzzic hall.
We have our guest as usual, this year, as follows;-
Anne Whitehead Nan Amor Ros Hinde Anita Dillon Allison Higgins Graham Dalzell Doreen Morrison
PLEASE Let me know if there should be anyone else on the list.
That’s 2025 done and dusted, BUT 1st January 2026, will see us heading through The Lakes to our regular NYD lunch at The Lakeland Moter Museum at Newby Bridge, I’ll be in touch about this looking for numbers nearer the time.
Finally some ‘Housekeeping’
Let Mark Dillon have any suitable photos, as he looks together with Anita to revamp the group website.
I’m minded to organise myself some new club sweatshirts etc, would anyone else be interested?
Neil Marland has found an excellent, reasonably priced ‘Old School’ garage man in Appleby. Now if Neil is impressed then this guy is worth a mention;-
