Standard Triumph Clubs Celebration of Sir John Black's Birthday

The British Motor Museum will be hosting a gathering on 10th February 2023 to celebrate the birthday of Sir John Black former Chairman of Standard-Triumph. Sir John left Hillman after it was taken over by Rootes Ltd in 1929, and joined the Standard Motor Company the same year, at the invitation of its founder, Reginald Maudslay. The marque was in dire financial straits and Sir John who became general manager in 1930, set about restoring the company’s fortunes.

British Motor Museum will bring out two cars from the Collection, possibly a Dolomite Sprint and the 1930"s Cream Standard Streamline off the Time Road. The museum is also offering the club discount of £10 per person for entry to the museum itself to participants.

The aim for 100 participants as a very fitting way to launch the celebrations for the Centenary of Triumph in 2023.
