1960 Triumph TR3a Overdrive
A very very solid car looking for new adventures. The paint last refreshed in the early 90s , loads of patina but looks good . Chassis and underside rock solid , no apparent welding done or needed . Bodywork patina but solid and rust free.
The overdrive clicks in and out as it should, without delay on 2, 3 and 4 . Feels good on the road . Optional Heater works well .
4. 1 rear axle, chrome wires, HS6 carbs, stainless exhaust,
Original reg ,
Lots of old mots , old log books from 70s onwards. Only 3 owners.
Lots of new parts in the last year:
Brake callipers, hoses, seals etc
Ignition system
Coil
Fuel pump
Distributor
4 x new tyres
Seat belts ( not needed but I prefer )
Switches , battery , bulb holders
Electric auxiliary fan
All electrics working well , starts instantly even from cold and after being unused for a few days.
All in all a good solid example with loads of patina , excellent value . only selling as I’m not using it as much as intended ( only for a couple hundred miles ) and we are now moving home . Built in September 1960 , not registered until 1961in the Lincoln area. Extract from Standard Triumph build sheets , looking at the green hand written log book from the 1970s and the subsequent DVLA ones from the 80s and 90s it appears only two long term owners before I purchased it .
