1963 Triumph TR4 ....TR5 performance at TR4 price!
Listed 10th June 2026
£25000.00
A UK RHD car with the original 1963 logbook and Heritage certificate.
The car was fully nut and bolt rebuilt circa. 2009. After this it lived in France where it was maintained to a very high standard (and fitted with a Km speedometer, which it retains) until 2023 when it returned to the UK.
It is regrettably for sale due to the owner’s ageing issues.
Engine
The engine has been modified to provide both improved performance and reliability. It is extremely lively with a very sporting feel to it, and has no problem keeping up with modern traffic, surprising many with its pace!

The car presents very well in gleaming Triumph Signal Red and benefits from a major professional bodywork refresh in 2025. There are 1 or 2 minor blemishes if you look very carefully, but overall it is a very attractive and much admired car that can hold its own at any show.
The 2025 work consisted of:
- New front wing
- Welding and new metal let into remaining 3 wings, cills, door apertures and bootlid
- Respray both sides and bootlid
• No rot on body or chassis, and both are in prime condition

• New door cards and door locks, inertia reel belts professionally fitted (2023)
• Very good mohair hood with new clear windows

Documentation and maintenance
There is extensive documentation including the original 1963 logbook and a Heritage certificate.
Also pictures of the complete rebuild before 2009 and comprehensive service and ownership material in various languages for the period in Europe from 2009 to 2023.
I have a complete file of all invoices and maintenance/repair documentation from the car’s return to the UK in 2023 to date. This includes photos of the bodywork refresh carried out in late 2025.
The car has been meticulously maintained by a mix of professional specialists or the owner where appropriate.
In all cases the priority has been to produce the best result and cost has not been an issue.
There are a number of spares available which will be included in the sale.
