Hi all
I am listing list to help a neighbour (Neil) who is in the classic car trade albeit dealing with more 'vintage vehicles' than ours.
A customer of his owns several classic cars and sadly is in poor health and his family have asked him help pass this TR3A on to a new home, as he will never be able to finish this project that began 30 years ago!
Knowing my involvement with TRs he asked would a register member be interested
The description I have been given is below along with photographs
The car is located in Yorkshire
Please contact me and I will be able to pass your details to Neil who will deal with things.
I understand that the price will be very fair in the £3000 bracket but that you will negotiate that with the family or Neil. Please bear in mind Neil is doing this for the family without any monetary gain to him (or me!)
I have not seen the car but the details I have been given are .........
TS 74167
First registered 19/9/62, two previous keepers, reg: 33EXN, no marker on V5 suggesting number is transferable.
Last taxed 12/94, ran for a couple of months before being put away.
Body shell from USA import.
Appraisal: solid panels, doors, footwells, bonnet and boot lid. Needs repainting as paint flaking on most panels with decay through to metal on boodlid and OS headlamp panel. Actually looks better underneath than on top!
Panel curvature generally good, slight undulations on front OS wing, doors solid, footwells solid but surface rusted, under wings clean and rust free. No access to rear of car
Engine rebuilt during 1994 restoration and will get details but told crank reground. Clutch now stuck on. Spare engine, gearbox and overdrive present
I can confirm that the crank was reground, new shells fitted, cylinder head rebuilt with hardened seats, starter and dynamo rebuilt, and new wiring harness fitted. Trim kit in boot although can’t vouch for its condition as it’s been there 30 years
