Side-screens to wedges — the TR Register makes its mark at Silverstone

What a weekend! CARFest 2026 at Silverstone was always going to be something special, but with members of the Kennet Valley, Wensum and Windsor Forest Groups joining forces, the TR Register made sure it had a presence worthy of the occasion.
With the iconic Silverstone Circuit as the backdrop, the TR crew established their base around the TR Register gazebo (which was really needed on the Saturday due to the rain), with the cars fanned out around it to create a superb display. And what a collection it was — a wonderful journey through TR history, from an early side-screen car TR3A right through to the later wedge-shaped TR7s and Grinnalls.

The display quickly became a magnet for CARFest visitors. People were constantly stopping to admire the cars, photograph them and, inevitably, tell us about the TR they once owned — or the one they always promised themselves they would buy!

There was plenty of interest in the different models, their history and, of course, the opportunity to find out more about the TR Register. Our members were only too happy to chat, share stories and explain what makes owning a TR such a rewarding — and occasionally entertaining — experience.

Most importantly, the weekend proved to be a fantastic opportunity to put the TR Register in front of a huge new audience, with genuine interest from visitors keen to find out more about the club and how they could get involved. Who knows how many future TR owners — or new members — walked away inspired by what they saw?
Three Days, Three Groups, One BIG TR Effort

Behind the polished chrome and gleaming paintwork was a dedicated crew who put in a hard shift from Friday right through to Sunday. Representing the Register, welcoming visitors, answering questions and keeping the display looking its best was no small undertaking.
But once the day's TR duties were over, it was time to put the club shirts away, relax and enjoy what CARFest does best — cars, music and entertainment!
And there was certainly no shortage of that.
Friday night saw Jessie J headline the Main Stage, with Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Gok Wan and The George Michael Singers helping to get the festival weekend off to a flying start.

Saturday brought the legendary Sir Tom Jones to Silverstone, joined by the Sugababes, James Morrison and Rick Parfitt Jnr.
Then came Sunday, with Nile Rodgers & CHIC headlining, alongside Rick Astley, Gabrielle, The Proclaimers and Elio Pace's Billy Joel Songbook. Quite a soundtrack after three days of talking TRs!

CARFest's move to Silverstone for 2026 certainly delivered on its promise of putting cars, music and family entertainment together on an even bigger stage. And right there amongst the impressive collection of vehicles was our own little piece of Triumph history.

So, as the last cars departed and the TR gazebo finally came down, there was plenty to feel proud of.
A HUGE THANK YOU to every member who attended from Kennet Valley, Wensum and Windsor Forest Groups who brought their TR, gave up their time, talked to the public and helped make the weekend such a success. You didn't just put on a great display of Triumphs — you flew the TR Register banner to the world!
From side-screens to wedges, from chrome bumpers to V8 rumble, and from the TR gazebo to the heart of Silverstone, the TR Register was there, proudly showing exactly what makes these cars — and the people who own them — so special.
Well done everyone… and a BIG, BIG THANK YOU! You did the TR Register proud!
