Feature: “I Purchased a TR5” – by Tony

  • Tony unexpectedly bought a

    barn-stored TR5

    after a chance conversation at Tatton Park
  • Car had been

    off the road since 1988

    and stored 38 years
  • TR Register history showed a

    chassis replacement in the early 80s

  • Named

    “Ladybird”

    due to red paint, rust spots, and registration “LDB”
  • Car now

    running

    , with sympathetic renovation planned to retain character
  • Welding and mechanical work next; not a full restoration


Events Attended (July–September 2024)

  • Oulton Park Gold Cup

    – Joined Register stand with 30 TRs; great weather, races, live music
  • Cuan Wildlife Classic Show

    – Scenic drive, 50+ craft stalls, classic cars
  • Tatton Park Classic & Retro Revival

    – Joined Red Rose Group; large show, 8 TR Stoke cars attended
  • Apedale Classic & Steam Day

    – Steam trains, museum, 12 TRs; well-loved first-time event
  • Biddulph Classic Show

    – Packed town centre event, high attendance and great atmosphere
  • Trentham Classic Show

    – Large local display; 12 TRs, but event ended early due to rain
  • Gulf Station Road Trip

    – Free petrol, Beautiful scenic drive and great group turnout

TR Stoke Christmas Bash 2024

  • Rescheduled from Sunday 8th to

    Thursday 12th December

    due to a power cut
  • Over

    25 members

    attended at The Wharf Pub
  • Festive meal, great atmosphere, lots of laughs

  • TR Quiz

    written by Karen & Chris; winners received the TR Piston Trophy
  • Tony handed out his legendary

    “quality” mystery gifts

    , including quirky car-related items and Kodak tubs
  • A warm, fun celebration of the year
