Thatcham Classic Show Hits New Heights with 250+ Cars at a Fantastic Festival Day!

Kennet Valley Group members enjoyed a superb day at the Thatcham Classic Show, held at the Memorial Field as part of the annual Thatcham Festival. Certainly one of the busiest shows for several years, the event attracted more than 250 classic and modern vehicles, creating a fantastic display and a great atmosphere throughout the day.

With the Festival running from 2pm through to 9pm, there was plenty for visitors to enjoy. Alongside the cars, the High Street came alive with stalls, attractions and live music, making it a real community occasion with something for all ages. Donations were also welcomed to help support the ongoing upkeep of the Memorial Park, giving visitors an opportunity to contribute to this much-loved local space.

A particular highlight was the presentation of Car of the Show, which went to a beautifully maintained Metropolitan. Its excellent condition made it a worthy winner and attracted plenty of admiration from visitors.

The Kennet Valley Group was also well represented, with four KVG cars creating a great deal of attention among the crowds. It was pleasing to see so much interest in the cars and to have the opportunity to chat with fellow enthusiasts and members of the public about our vehicles and the stories behind them.

There was more to discover inside the Memorial Hall, where a fascinating model display showcased an impressive variety of finely crafted models. Cars, aircraft, science-fiction subjects and buildings were all represented, with many of the models clearly the result of hours of painstaking work, patience and attention to detail. The display provided a welcome extra attraction and demonstrated the remarkable skill and creativity of the model makers.

With such a strong turnout, an excellent range of vehicles, plenty of attractions and a lively festival atmosphere, the Thatcham Classic Show proved to be a great day out for enthusiasts, families and the wider community alike.

As the season draws to a close, this may well have been the last show of the year for many of us, making it a fitting way to round off another enjoyable season of classic motoring.

A big thank you to the organisers, exhibitors, volunteers and everyone who came along to make the Thatcham Classic Show such a success. We look forward to seeing everyone again next season!
