2026 got off to a good start with the Brooklands New Year's Day Gathering. There was an amazing turnout of TR's gathered beside the Campbell Sheds. In all over a thousand classic cars were on display and easily twice as many visitors admiring them. We were extremely fortunate with the weather as the following day's snow would have deterred all but the most dedicated owners. The picture shows Bill Wheeler's TR6 and Neil Regent's TR4.
A small group of TVG members made the trek to Stoneleigh for the Triumph/MG Spares Day. It was a good show filling three halls with traders, autojumblers and cars both on display and for sale. Sadly a couple of the big names no longer support the show but there was still plenty to see and buy. It's amazing the things you find that you didn't know you needed.
Plans are forming for the coming year with bookings in place for the Bromley Pageant (now relocated to Ardingly) on 19th July and quite a few members have taken advantage of the "early bird" discounts and booked for Car Club Fest, frustratingly the dates clash with our favourite event, the Capel Show on 15th August. One or two members are also considering the now annual Le Mans Classic in July.
Our regular meetings are at the Stepping Stones pub in Westhumble, Dorking (RH5 6BS) on the third Wednesday of each month from 20:00 and our Sunday lunchtime meetings on the last Sunday of the month at the Surrey Oaks (RH5 5DZ), starting at 12:00.
