I'm very sorry to have to report the passing of Don Streatfield. Don was a long term member of the Thames Valley Group with a beautifully turned out red TR6 and a TR7 V8 in a very 70's Russet Brown. A quiet, unassuming man, Don had a long history of motorsport involvement including navigating for your scribe on a number of regularity rallies. Sadly Don developed dementia a few years ago and went into care where he passed away on 19th June. He is fondly remembered.

The group has had a busy couple of months with new acquisitions and upgrades including Paul's new TR6, Bill's hardtop (just in time for the heatwave), Gareth's Ramair filter to name but a few. Attendance at our last Sunday of the month meetings has been good and we are seeing lots of TR's with their hoods down.

Hoods down didn't really apply to the TVG trip to Wales as Roger Humphries explains:

Eight TRs with their Drivers & Co-drivers met at the very comfortable Tyn y Cornel Hotel on the delightful Tal-y-llyn Lake in mid Wales for a 3 night stay. We comprised 1x 4, 2x 4As, a 4A Dove, a 5 and 3 6s. A wet morning met us for a trip on the Talyllyn Railway, which is celebrating its 75th Anniversary as the first railway to be entirely run by volunteers. Then a local run enjoying the local roads despite the 20 mph speed limit in places. The next day an enjoyable driving route via Hellfire Pass to Bala Lake where we met up with some of the local North Wales Group of the TR Register. Then we had a choice of routes back to our hotel. Thanks to Richard for planning the days out and everyone for a most enjoyable few days

.Our regular meetings are at the Stepping Stones pub in Westhumble, Dorking (RH5 6BS) on the third Wednesday of each month from 20:00 and our Sunday lunchtime meetings on the last Sunday of the month at the Surrey Oaks (RH5 5DZ), starting at 12:00.
