NLG Winter Committee Comments
01st February, 2026
Welcome to what promises to be another event packed NLG year. Although we are currently still in the depths of winter, plans are already underway to ensure you can get the most out of your TR and enjoy the social side of the NLG.
Inside this issue are adverts for the ever popular TR & Tiara Tour based this year at the Brome Grange Hotel in Eye, Suffolk organised by Bob Grou and Mike North and also this year’s TR venture abroad to the Spa Classic six hours which is being organised by Mike North and Andy Sargent. If you would like to join either of these events, then please respond to the organisers before it is too late.
There are reports on the All Triumph Day which was held at Shuttleworth, the NLG Christmas dinner held for the second year at the Woodman pub in North Mimms and the Yew Year’s Day Run to Stony Stratford, all well attended by NLG members.
For those of you needing parts for your TR or just looking for a sociable day out, the MG/Triumph Day is on Sunday 8th February and is always well attended by NLG members, but if you haven’t already got your advance tickets, then do so before it’s too late. Next up are the Race Retro Show at Stoneleigh and the Practical Classics Show at the NEC which are both worth a visit, but again make sure you book your cheaper advance tickets.
The mid week adventures are back again this year kicking off with a return visit to the RAF Museum in Hendon to catch up where we left off last time and explore the remaining hangers. March takes us to the Post Office Museum and tour with a ride on the underground Mail Rail. In April we are off to the British Museum which is dedicated to human history, art and culture. Finally, for this year we will be visiting the Royal Chelsea Hospital which is home to service veterans and the iconic Chelsea Pensioners. If you would like to join any of these trips, then please let Mike North know.
We are having a change with this year’s February alternative meeting. Instead of the usual evening venue, we will be meeting at the Cricketers pub in Sarratt for lunch so bring your wife/partner along. Many people have already put their names down for this so if you would like to attend, let Bob Grou know so that he can book it with the pub.
