What a fantastic day out—and a perfect reminder of why being part of the Kennet Valley Group of the TR Register is so special.
Eleven KVG cars took to the road for today’s run, with a brilliant turnout of nine TRs, joined by a BMW and an MX-5. The route, expertly put together by Jackie and John Edmonds which deserves a BIG THANK YOU, covered just over 100 miles of some of the finest driving roads through Berkshire, Wiltshire and Dorset. A well-timed coffee stop at Waitrose Garden Centre & Cafe, Leckford along the way gave everyone a chance to catch up, compare notes, and enjoy the atmosphere that makes these runs so enjoyable.
Of course, no great club run would be complete without a few navigational “moments”—including the occasional sight of fellow KVG members coming the other way! All part of the fun, and it only added to the laughter and camaraderie that define these days.
The highlight destination, the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection, did not disappoint. An incredibly interesting collection, brought to life by knowledgeable and welcoming staff, and presented in a way that really engages visitors. Not many places give you the chance to get up close—and even climb into—the cockpits of historic aircraft, making it a truly memorable experience.
All of this, enjoyed under excellent weather, made for a superb day out exploring some of the best countryside our region has to offer.
If ever there was a reason to be part of the Kennet Valley Group, this was it.
