Sunday 12th July saw the Derbyshire Dales TR Group and the Chesterfield MG Group come together for their joint breakfast and barbecue run through the Dales, based at South Wingfield Social Club - and by all accounts it was a thoroughly enjoyable day out for classic car owners from both clubs.

Drivers registered from after breakfast for their route instructions and breakfast/BBQ tickets before setting off at their own speed, taking in a run through some of the Dales' finest roads with a coffee and comfort stop along the way. True to form for a navigation run, a few crews found themselves exploring roads they hadn't driven before — as one attendee, Chris, put it: "Managed again to find some roads I've not been on before - and now I have, I know why!"

Tim and Helen were singled out for bringing what many agreed was the most appropriate car for the course, adding a bit of friendly banter to the day. Not everyone made it all the way round the full route - Chris and Georgia had to head off early for family reasons - but they were quick to thank the group, with "more navigation training" already planned before the next outing.

Cars began returning to South Wingfield Social Club, where the barbecue got underway to round off the afternoon and give everyone a chance to swap stories from the road.
