Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of Cumbria TR Group held on Sunday 1st February 2026 Present: John Morrison - Group Leader, Anne Marie Whitehead - Secretary, Peter Bonsall -
Membership, Mark Dillon and 18 ordinary members
1\. John welcomed everybody to the meeting. There were apologies from 8 other members. John thanked Peter for organising the day and co-ordinating with the hotel.
2.The Minutes of the last AGM held on 2nd February 2025 were signed by John and agreed as a true record. There were no matters arising. This was proposed by Steve Hinde and seconded by Paul Higgins.
3\. Raffle - As prizes had been donated, it was agreed that a raffle would be held with proceeds going to club funds.
4\. Treasurer's Report - As Dave Couling was unwell and unable to attend the meeting, John distributed some copies of the club's Profit and Loss account. John said that the funds amounted to approximately £3,500 and there were no commitments. Acceptance of the accounts was proposed by Neil Marland and seconded by Anita Dillon.
5\. Officers - John said that himself, Anne, Peter and Mark were all happy to continue in their current roles but if anyone was interested in volunteering, then to let him know. Dave Couling wishes to step aside as Treasurer and if any member would like to take over the role, then to let him know.
6.Awards - voting slips were given out to enable votes to be counted and awards to be given. 7.Review of events held in 2025. John gave a short resume of all the runs and events held during
2025\.
8.Programme for 2026 -
1st Jan - NYD run to Newby Bridge and lunch at the Lakeland Motor museum.
6th Jan - lunch at Jim & Anne's - a great start to the TR year ahead
1st Feb - AGM & lunch at Crooklands
1st March - run by Peter & Nan - possibly the Duddon Valley
14th April (Tues) - Ripon Charity run and lunch by Neil & Judith - Neil will send out an email. Will meet Jct 38 M6. Judith recommended looking at the Jenny Ruth workshop website.
21st April (Tues) Scottish trip to Port Patrick organised by Jim. Jim will reserve 10 rooms at the Port Patrick hotel and the cost will be £350 per person for 3 nights including food.
26th April - Drive It Day - a run to Dalemain and then a run out for lunch
14th May (Thurs) - Appleby Rotary all day run organised by Neil (120 - 140 miles) 18th May (Mon) - Camping trip to Fort William
8th June (Mon) - Trip to Suffolk organised by Paul, meeting at Kings Lynn. 10 members. We will be joined by members of Abbot & Stour Group.
28th/29th June - 2 night stay at Riverdale hall in Bellingham, Northumberland. Organised by Steve and his grand-daughter Rosie who is helping to organise the trip as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award.
21st July (Sun) - BBQ hosted by Michael Reed 4th August (Fri) - dales run by Graham Dalzell 4th Sept - all day run by Ros and Steve
25th / 27th Sept - Spa in Belgium
11th Oct - Autumn Leaves run probably by Mark and Ann
The proposed trip to Southern Ireland in October by Graham Dalzell has been postponed to
September 2027 as the weather on the west coast in October can be poor. 1st Nov - planning meeting at Crooklands
5th / 6th Dec - Posh Nosh - John will investigate the Brantwood at Stainton, The Newby Bridge Hall hotel and also the Roundhorn at Penrith at alternative venues to Lyzzic Hall.
9\. The proposal to award a complimentary lunch to members who have organised events or runs - This was proposed by Mark Dillon and seconded by Paul Higgins

• Grill Badges - John has a further supply of badges for those wanting to purchase.12 have been sold with £180 going to club funds.
• Membership - Peter remarked that there are currently 80 members registered in Cumbria Group, 10 of whom are in the Isle of Man. Of the 70 members only 25 currently attend events so 45 are dormant.
• John will be attending the Group Leader's day at Gayden on 21st February and asked if anyone wanted to share the driving and look around the museum at Gayden.
11\. Awards - After the votes had been counted the awards were presented:
• The TRyhardest award went to Paul Higgins
• The Chris Harrison - Beck award went to Peter & Nan for the IOM trip
• The Neville Theaker awrd went to John Morrison
12\. The raffle was drawn and prizes given out. £65 went to club funds. John thanked everyone for coming and the meeting closed at 2.50pm
