Monthly Meeting - 1st September 2026

NATIONAL UPDATE:
The Club have been updating the website which has caused us a few problems recently, but Phase 2 is now complete and has been set live. It was developed by a team of 12 Group Leaders and Group IT Leads, and provides a very simple means for all Group Leaders to add News and Events for their Group, it is much simpler and more comprehensive than using the previous SheepCRM.
The group leaders meeting in preparation for the Annual Meeting 2027 was held at Malvern this month during the Car Fest event. The minutes are being prepared and once available will be shared with members. One thing of note was that we had two representatives from Howden Insurance to give us a 15 to 20 min chat specifically about issues within the breakdown scheme.
1) They are looking to change from the current agents DAS?
2) They already now have a UK based call centre, instead of Europe, so no longer will you struggle with language etc, should you need assistance abroad, your call will be answered here in the UK, and
3) Most impressively, the two representatives of Howdens, each gave us their own personal phone numbers, so in an absolute emergency, where service hasn't been forthcoming through the proper channels, as a last resort, we may ring these folk, at home, and they will do their best for us.
Representatives were Alex Pullen, and Peter Barrett, whilst I won't show their home phone numbers here, any group member who emails me, can have them by return.
I have to say, I thought these two were very genuine and would help all they could should help be needed.

TRIP TO ITALY 2028
[This item should have been circulated last month, but website issues caused complications!]
Further to previous information regarding the suggested trip. A rough outline is as follows:
Ferry from Hull to Rotterdam
From there through Austria and into Italy via the Stelvio Pass and heading to Brescia.
Once at Brescia it will be a tour following a route which will take in places such as Siena, Orvieto, San Marino and Parma before running along Lake Garda and into the Dolomites.
It is intended that we will be speaking with our TR Register friends from Italy whilst meeting at the Belgian about finer details. But if anyone is interested please let Jonathan know. The date has not been fixed yet but end of May 2028 is likely.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The AGM will be held on WEDNESDAY 4th October at The Blue Bell Inn, Ingleby Cross, Northallerton DL6 3NF. Please note this is Wednesday night - not Tuesday! Please let me know if there is anything you would like to discuss, or if you would like either to be on the committee, or to propose somebody.
CHRISTMAS MEAL
The Christmas meal will be on Tuesday 8th December at The Bay Horse 88 High St, Great Broughton, Middlesbrough TS9 7HA. Please let me know if you are coming so I can make the booking. This will also replace the normal monthly meeting which would otherwise have been on 1st December.

NEXT MONTH’S MEETING
We will meet on Tuesday 6th October at the Fox Covert, Low Ln, High Leven, Yarm TS15 9JW meeting starts at 8pm. If anyone would like a meal, a table will be booked for 6.45pm. Let me know if you want to book for a meal.
