Carriages near Huish - 22 February 2026

A couple of TRs, TR5 and TR6, for this one, and several other classics as well, including Jim's classic mini, a classic car if ever there was.

There were about 20 of us having an excellent breakfast in the cafe, the Carriages breakfast takes some beating.

The main topic around one end of the table was about how lucky we are to have a few local classic car clubs, and plenty of events coming on in spring and summer. The problem isn't trying to find somewhere to go it's about deciding how to manage the diary clashes. The next ones coming up are Weston Pageant of Transport and Greedy Goose on Sunday 5 April and the consensus was that we will go to the Pageant of Transport as it supports a local charity and we usually meet up with Somerset Triumphs. The second class was Lympsham Village Fete and Highnam Family Day on Saturday 4 July, and the consensus was to go to Lympsham as it supports local causes, is small and friendly with a good selection of classics, and again, we sometimes meet up with Somerset Triumphs again. Another good natter.
