Autumn Roads & Classic Healeys: A Saturday Drive to Rawles

John Rice took a drive out in his TR5, here's how he got on:

'Today’s drive out Saturday, was a typical autumn weather, blue sky, sunny but not quite warm enough for top down .

Saturdays destination was Rawles at Alton in Hampshire, meeting a friend with his newly painted MGB, we headed to Basingstoke then down a drivers A road the A339 with lots of bends to Alton, skirting the town via leafy lanes around Lasham gliders.

The Healey 3009 specialist was ready for classic cars visiting with greeting staff and coffee on hand, the sale cars were all lined up for display and the showroom and workshop and body shops including the paint and finishing areas displayed Healeys in various stages of preparation.

You can see the level of labour involved in the fully rebuilt cars, plenty of interest with classic cars arriving to visit all morning and refreshments laid on, some nice cars to view, a good outing and perfect autumn driving weather.'
