6th Feb Group Meeting
February 6th meeting
Still too cold for our cars to be turned out, and snow, trying its best to settle, did not stop a lot of our members from attending our meeting.
It was made all the better by Andrew and Peter, coming for their first time to have a talk and get to know us all, Andrew having come down from Harrogate. They told us of their cars and all the work they were at present doing to them, Peter is in the process of fitting Fuel Injection to his 4A.
Russ showed us pictures of his recent trip to America, and the car collections he had seen, even coming on his birthday, to show us.
We all discussed the trip in June to the Lake District and Jackie showed us pictures of the Hotel she had kindly booked, for us.
I was able to tell of the safe arrival of the car I recently bought from America, having found the entire experience very easy. It only remains to strip and restore the car, a part I really enjoy, cutting and welding, the body, in my cold garage. You need the welder and grinder to warm you up at this time of year; painting will have to wait, for warmer weather.
Paul's TR2 is nearing completion in his garage, looking very special in its new coat of dark green, it will be good for us all to have our cars out this spring. We have booked a lot of outings and hope to make this a very successful motoring year, for both our cars and club.
