The cold North wind managed to stop for our August outing to the Yorkshire Air Museum, in nine T.R's. The Museum made a fuss of all in our cars and put us all in a special area for display outside one of the many hangers, full of planes.
Some of the wives took this opportunity to have some retail shopping in the nearby shopping centre, but most of us had a meal and enjoyed the many displays. A guide was provided for us all, and it was very interesting to have the origins of this airport explained to us.
As we entered the aerodrome we saw what looked like a Vulcan bomber flying around, but found that a display was being held by a model aircraft club, that flies really big model aircraft, it was so good that some of the group were returning on the next day for another look, at all the flying models.
Martin has had his eye operation and we all wish him well in his recovery, although he is unlikely to rest, as he should.
It was a well attended meeting in early September, but only three TR6's came, but it did not stop us all having a good get together, in the warm Pub.
If we can stop having the rain, it was decided that we like another run, before we totally lost the summer. Please keep a check on the web site for more details, of this event, that will be totally dependent on the weather as usual.
