SHROPSHIRE GROUP'S SOCIAL REPORT FOR TR ACTION 311
Shropshire Group's Report for TR Action 311
Early November saw a number of Shropshire Group Members descending on the NEC for the International Classic Car Show. It was good to see all of the Triumph Clubs grouped together so that the individual models that make up the Triumph family could easily be viewed. The TR Register Stand was, of course, very welcoming with much needed tea and coffee available.
Club Night at The Aston on 14th November was, as usual, well attended. A number of members took advantage of the facility to have a meal before the meeting.
A few of us travelled over to Northamptonshire to attend the TR Register AGM at The Aviator Hotel. This is a very interesting venue. It was excellent that most of the recent difficulties had been resolved and that we can now get back to what we do best – being a car club. Our own Phil and Alice Desborough received Gold Awards for their service to the Group. Well deserved!
Sunday 2nd December was the date of our annual Turkey Trot. This is when we dress up our cars, drive across the county and have an excessively large Christmas lunch. This year 22 cars left Telford and drove across Cannock Chase and over the Blithfield Reservoir to Uttoxeter Racecourse to visit the Christmas Fair. More cars joined us there. After spending money, we returned to Newport for a good lunch at The Aston. Paul & Kath Sedgley and Richard & Chris Dewis received prizes for the best decorated cars. These were kindly sponsored by Gem Green (Haulage) Ltd of Market Drayton. As usual, the devilish quiz was compiled by Helen Beresford. Many thanks, Helen.
There is just December's Club Night to go and then that's it for the rest of this year. But the 2019 Calendar of Events has been distributed and can be viewed on the Group's web site at: - www.tr-register.co.uk/group/shropshire
By the time you read this Christmas and the New Year will be a distant memory. Hope you had a great time.
