ANTROBUS ARMS LATEST!

We have been in touch with the new owners of the Antrobus Arms who are looking forward to our return in April following completion of the refurbishment works.

Whilst the Antrobus Arms is being refurbished, with the help of Gordon and Hazel Bayley, we have been fortunate to secure the use of a private function room at the Hazel Pear Inn, Acton Bridge.

The Hazel Pear is only a couple of miles from the Antrobus Arms, there is a large car park to accommodate everyone and food and drink is available in the bar area.

JANUARY MEETING

Our first meeting of the year was also the AGM and we had quite a turn out! Standing room only! Thank you to everyone who turned up and we hope that you will be joining us for the events meeting on the 11th February.

The January meeting got underway with Bob Eccles officially stepping down as our group leader and to thank him for all he has done for Red Rose over the years he was presented with an engraved tankard, a framed photo of his TR6 and a card signed by the members. Bob will now be able to focus more on his role as a regional director but he is still very much involved with the club and has agreed to help on the events committee.

Jonathan Smith is now the new group leader and Tim Davies is his deputy.

2018 Committee members

Group Leader – Jonathan Smith, Deputy Group Leader – Tim Davies, Treasurer - John Leleu, Fund Raising - Ann / Bill Redrobe, Red Rose Bulletin / TR Action report - Jonathan / Caroline Smith, Events - Caroline Smith, Mike / Carole Biddulph, Sandra Baran, Bob Eccles, Shows - Chris Briggs, New members Secretary - Tim Davies, Web Site Editor - Phil Moss, Face Book Administrator - Steve Dyne, Caroline Smith

We would like to thank everyone for their hard work and commitment to the club which is much appreciated.

Bob and Jonathan gave us a review of 2017 and John Leleu our treasurer presented the clubs financial report.

The Red Rose Cup was presented to Phil Moss for his work on the website. If you haven't been on the clubs website recently it's well worth a look. Bob received The Mike Connery Plate for his Coast to Coast weekend, and Bob then presented flowers to me, Carole Biddulph and Ann Thorp for our various services to the club throughout the year. They were very much appreciated.

Along with the usual raffle we had the much anticipated Facebook draw! Everyone who joined the Facebook page last year was entered and the winner was Anita Rolfe. There was a choice of gift voucher, Marks and Spencer's or Moss. Anita has chosen the Marks voucher. We will be doing the same again this year so it's worth joining. It's also a great place to get information on upcoming events and club news.

FEBRUARY EVENTS MEETING 12:30 pm 11th February, The Hazel Pear Inn, CW8 3RA

The events team have been busy over the last month and there will be some exciting news re Drive it day, Car Fest and TR Fest plus a few new events for 2018. Event booking forms will be available at the meeting.

If you are considering attending a meeting this year this is the one to be at to get all the latest news and details of upcoming events.

Red Rose is changing and growing as a club and with this in mind we gave everyone at the AGM a questionnaire so we can get some feedback and ideas about what people do or indeed do not want to do as a club. If you have any thoughts or ideas about events you would like Red Rose to be involved with why not come along on the 11th.

We will be going through all the proposed events the club has planned for the year ahead and volunteers will be needed for post meeting runs so don't be shy!

PHOTOGRAPH COMPETITION

We are hoping to have the photograph competition at the March meeting. This proved very popular last year and it's not too late to send us in a picture of your TR. Please provide details of when and where the photo was taken along with a suitable caption. Email your photo's to (trredrose@hotmail.com). All photo's will be displayed on the day and everyone will get the chance to vote for their favourite.

The first big event on the calendar is Drive It Day on April 22nd. This year we have managed to secure a great venue with lots to see and a choice of places to get refreshments. Further details will be available at the events meeting and in due course on the website and Red Rose Facebook page.
