TR Action London Group report for issue 324

TR Action London Group report for issue 324

Well first all of Big thanks to all the organisations NHS Fire Police Ambulance et cetera who have been helping us all through these terrible times. That said the glimmer of hope is getting brighter, well it’s starting to flicker a bit more anyway. Following nearly 5 months of Zoom calls replacing our Group meetings, which I have to say were remarkably well attended, people dialling in from all over the world; Geoff from his villa in Spain and Paul Reynolds all the way from his Moscow apartment, Paul strangely seemed to regularly have to the best connection of all of us? Also, I have to thank David Boucher for his sterling work on organising a TR / motoring connected quiz for the majority of our Zoom calls. Finally, we actually had our first face to face real Group meeting, last week Thursday 6th August from 8:30pm Clearly the numbers had to be limited to less than 30, social distancing needed to be observed and apart from getting our drinks the whole meeting was held outside, luckily it was a warm balmy evening in West London We had 14 cars turn up with 26 people arriving from all over London to our Richmond location. Roger from Hayes, Barry from Battersea, Ron from nearly Croydon and of course a member not seen from well before lock down, the magnificent Jerry West in his fantastically engineered TR250. However, the star of show has to be Pat Byrne in his newly finished TR4 BRG with a red interior. Fantastic! well-done Pat I know it’s been a challenge. It was great to see all the cars and Group members together again, much talk was of what we had and hadn’t done to our cars and of course demonstrations of the new additions were conducted, Sound Systems and lights figured quite highly. All that said the question of how we can carry out other activities within the continuing Covid -19 restrictions was discussed, a challenge to say the least. That said a few good suggestions were made and I hope to report on some muted activities in issue 325. So stay safe and look after yourselves
