TR Action Report London Group presented for issue 298

So what happened in April well 2 group club nights one of which doubled as our AGM, our first Pub Run of the year and Drive it Day hosted by Glynn of the South Downs Group. So to our first group Club night in Richmond which was joined by some of our friends from Club Triumph although it must be noted that 2 of them Andrew and James are also TR Register members. Special thanks must go to Andrew & James for rescuing one of our other visitors Andrew Gleeson in his 2000 with which they discovered was a blocked fuel filter a couple of knocks and bangs in the right place meant Andy could join us. I actually saw Andrew Martin again that weekend whist competing in the HCR (Historic Counties Run) which for the second year running he and his co-driver won first place, well done mate. On to our Pub Run the first for 2017 down to the Punch Bowl in Ockley 8 cars set off in convoy through the glorious Surrey Hills, meeting two more cars at the Pub. Big thanks to Neil Kemp whose eagle eye spotted that we were only one car short of a full Triumph TR Range line up. Yes to our surprise amongst us we had a TR3, 2 x TR3A, TR4, 2 x TR4A, TR5, TR6, TR7 and a Grinnall TR8 , the sun shone, the food was great and we all enjoyed our lunches in their garden. Then the following Thursday of course was the 3rd one of the month so our 2nd meeting which doubled as our AGM. The full results and presentation along with an addendum have been posted on our flickr site fully accessible from the London Group pages on the main TR register web site, The Committee now consists of Mark Bulford Group Leader, Steve Bamforth Group Secretary, Alan Jones Group Treasurer and David Boucher as Group Social Secretary. Finally then on the 23rd 9 cars set off from our favoured start point Ockham Bites just off the A3 to Borde Hill Gardens to join another 80 odd cars. It was great to see Peter Keefe in his beautifully turned out TR6 for his first London Group event and I hope he felt the warm welcome that was extended. Whilst at Borde Gardens we were joined by a few more cars John Headden in his fabulous TR4 with a 6 cylinder engine and interesting boot arrangement, and another Andrew Martin (not the HCR Champion) but the owner of red TR6 which again was beautifully turned out. Mr Kemp was also there in his Staaag. So April has been a very busy month for London Group. Finally then, come and join us for a noggin and a natter over a beer, you are most welcome. You can find us on the first Thursday of every month at the Rose of York in Richmond or on the third Thursday at an alternative venue (keep an eye on the web site) - both start at about 9.00pm
