TR Action Report London Group presented for issue 287
Well as mentioned in our last report our second BHP shoot out took place in October, once again there was a strong showing from the Windsor Forest group and Enginuity again did us proud in this now regular event. In addition to the almost full range of TR's all we need for the next one is a TR2!, we also had entries from a 2000 Mk 1 a race prepared Herald and a beautiful Lancia that in the looks department really stole the show. The winner once again with the most accurate prediction of his BHP was none other than Mr. Steve Bamforth in his trusty TR6, the highest was BHP was recorded by Neil Kemp again in a TR6 but with something rather special under the bonnet. The lowest went to William Chignell in that Race prepared Herald, whilst the award for the person with the least knowledge of their cars BHP performance was presented to a delighted Richard Snowden with his TR5 whose BHP he had completely under-estimated and was very happy to see it go way above his prediction. Our two evening group meetings were both well attended although inclement weather meant not too many TR's in the Car park. Then of course came the annual pilgrimage to the NEC for the Classic Motor show and as before we admired cars we can't afford, bought things we don't really need (although both myself & Jerry West bought a great little action camera at an incredibly low price - What a bargain!!), got sore feet, drank luke warm brown stuff and ate odd looking things, met up with friends old and new, had a great laugh and a really good day. Now of course we are planning for both Christmas and the activities calendar for the London Group in 2016. Any suggestions from London group members are very welcome. You can find us on the first Thursday of every month at the Rose of York in Richmond or on the third Thursday at an alternative venue (keep your eye on the web site) - both kick off at around 9.00pm. You will be made most welcome
