TR Lincs August 2018 Report

TR Lincs August 2018 Report

A very warm welcome to the TR Lincs August Newsletter. I have been a little delayed in getting this latest issue out owing to enjoying the wonderful weather and not relishing the idea of sitting inside and bashing the keys. I'm sure you have all been giving your TR's a thoroughly good work-out over the last few weeks to take advantage of this great summer weather. For those of you whose TRs are somewhere between a box of bits in the garage to almost the finished article I'm sure the prospect of you too enjoying this weather is spurring you on. There are some interesting things to share with you in this issue so please take time to read it through in case you miss something.

See you all soon

TR Register International Weekend - Lincoln

The IWE returned for the second time to Lincoln with the added ingredient of Pistons in the Park joining the normal TR event to bring in a new range of classic and future classic cars to enjoy. Those that attended will bear witness to the wonderful weather we again enjoyed at the showground and those that camped over the weekend certainly appreciated the warm weather and the ability to sit out in the sunshine. From a personal point of view I welcomed the inclusion of the Pistons in the Park elements but was a little disappointed at the turn out of cars within that category. Never the less the TR and on the Sunday the Triumph Club cars ensured that the event was a success. You will have read all about the event in the latest TR Action so I won't say any more about it just to say a big thank you to all that helped on the weekend and Mags and Allyson for providing the hospitality on both Saturday and Sunday.

Up and Coming Events

August Run and BBQ – August 19th

Our run will commence from the A1 Services at Gonerby Moor just north of Grantham where you can get coffee and refreshments before setting off. Aim to arrive by 10.30am for an 11.00am departure. We will then follow a pleasant route through the south of the county ending up at South Scarle for a BBQ picnic lunch. As in previous years please just bring your own protein and drinks (meat, fish, vegetarian etc.) as accompaniments will be provided for you to fill your plate. We have already got 7 cars booked on and in order to cater for numbers could you please let me know if you will be joining us by emailing me at TRLincs@yahoo.co.uk before the 12th of August. If your TR is off the road then just come along for the BBQ, just drop me a note and I'll give you details and timings.

Looking Ahead to 2019!

Looking ahead to our 2019 TR Lincs overseas tour I would like to see if anyone would be interested in touring Germany for 2019. There are two events taking place next year that we could combine into a tour for 2019. The first event is the 86th TR Register Germany meeting from the 7thto 10th June followed by the TR6 Day celebrating the 50thanniversary of the TR6 on June 15th. The first event is to be held in Linstow just east of Hamburg and the second in Osnabruck. I will have more details of both events in due course but I would like to gauge interest at this stage (no commitment) before putting too much effort into the organisation. Please drop me a line if you might be interested.

And Finally ……………

Don't forget our regular monthly meetings for a nice chat and to catch up on progress and news. I will appeal again for any volunteers to organise a local run as I start to compile our 2019 events calendar. Don't be shy, give it a go and showcase your part of the world and lastly a big TR Lincs welcome to our newest members David and Pat Spolton who joined the register at the IWE.
