TRiumphs at Rockingham & Rutland, the LTRG weekend was a great success

The Leicestershire TR Group Weekend was an amazing success blessed with brilliant weather. 38 TRs and other classics attended this bi-annual event from TR Register groups far and wide. It was great to see some old friends and to welcome some new friends to the delights of Leicestershire and Rutland.

Friday evening we were able to relax in the gardens with our friends over a pint or two before retreating indoors for a lovely buffet supper.

Saturday during the 80 mile tour of Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Rutland we visited TSSC Headquarters, Lubenham; Vintage Motoring UK, Kibworth, Gates Nurseries and completed the day on the Rutland Belle cruising Rutland Water. TSSC surprised many by the way they have combined the ambience of a coffee lounge with a superb collection of automobilia, cars and spares.

Saturday Evening was rounded off by a lovely three course dinner followed by a fun quiz and unforgettable Roy Orbison tribute performance delivered by our one and only Renay (David Guzetta) who was literally "crying all over us"!! The after dinner raffle raised an amazing £420 for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.

Sunday morning started with a leisurely breakfast followed by short tour to Foxton Locks and Sunday Lunch overlooking the Canal.

Visitor feedback was very positive with an emphasis on the way that we had enabled folk to mingle in a relaxed way and delivered the whole event through a team of LTRG Members. On that note Tony, our group leader, would like to personally thank the team Andy and Jennie Holyoak, David and Dawn Guzetta, Robert and Gaylene Sanders, Dick Goodey, John and Margaret Martin and Martin Faulkner who made the whole thing not only possible but an amazing success for LTRG. Our thanks also go the the generous donations of prizes for the raffle made by Travis Perkins, Vintage Automobilia UK, Tim and Kathryn Sharp and Andy and Jennie Holyoak.
