Leicestershire Group go belly dancing!
31 people for a monthly meeting in March is another great turnout and we had 3 TRs in the car park, two with hoods down, fantastic. (nobody took any photos this time so this one is from last year, same car same car park) As Tony is away Andy and Phil led the meeting. We had a number of new faces, Richard and Chris Hayes and Andy Jackson – welcome to all of you. Andy Holyoak congratulated Allan Westbury on becoming the new Vice Chairman of the TR Register, something that he hadn't realised until the group leaders meeting which was held last weekend.
Out and About
Since the last meeting 12 intrepid explorers went to Marrakesh, well the restaurant in Nottingham for a great Moroccan meal and to admire the talented belly dancer. I am sure some of the men were admiring the dancing as well as the dancer. One of our members was even invited to join her on the dance floor but was too bashful, weren't you Mike. All photos were censored.
Roger was spotted at the recent Derbyshire Dales first run out in the rain. Ladybower reservoir was the destination, it can just been seen in the drizzle. Great location for a run, shame about the weather. Mick and Linda F whimped out and stayed at home
Future Events
Our next Leicestershire outing is to the Crich tramway museum on the 2nd April, being organised by Tony and Ruth. There are 39 people currently confirmed as going including 11 from other local groups. Another great turnout.
There is a pie night at Beaumanor Hall on the 7th April. Rachael is organising it, and already has a full table of 18, plus two on the reserve list.
On the 23rd April, Drive It day, there is a run out to Bletchley Park, organised by Colin and Anne. There are 19 people already going. Anyone else who wishes to join in must book it with Colin before the 31st March. £14 a head.
The Welsh weekend is on the 28th April for three nights. There are eight members attending this.
On the same weekend there is the Historic Festival at Donington Park racetrack. If you wish to go, get the TR Register discount code from the TR Register website or TR Action, then book directly with the Park. TR Register members get a two for one entrance, and you do not both have to be in the same car. Parking will be in the infield, so make sure you ask for an infield pass for each car. The event is on the 28th to 30th April, and on the Saturday it is hoped there will be a parade of old cars in Donington village.
The outing to the Dingley Races will be on the 7th May, followed by a BBQ at Rob's house. There is some concern about the available parking at the races, and it may be that we end up just doing a run out, then having the BBQ. More news will follow when it is available.
