LVG Unofficial Christmas Lunch

LVG Unofficial Christmas Lunch

LVG have a Kick off Lunch in January each year, so don’t specifically arrange a Christmas Lunch….. but, as we meet on the 3rd Sunday of the month at The Cock public house in Broom, where most members eat, we call our December meeting an “Unofficial Christmas Lunch”.

This year we nearly filled the barn at the pub with 32 members and friends attending. The weather was kind and 3 TR’s were seen in the car park (along with a Ford Capri and a varied selection of more modern vehicles and wheelie bins).

Graham and Tony were also seen doing a dodgy deal in the car park, not drugs, but 4 X wheels and tyres, which were lugged between their cars and cash exchanged - very nice they are too.

During lunch, Pat provided a most entertaining quiz, which included questions where all answers were the names of Triumph cars.   Other non car related questions were also included. One being in what year did the first official bank holiday start on New Years Day? (Answer below).

As everyone left, the sun was setting and a lovely sky was seen in the West. The photo below was snapped as one of the TR’s was travelling home (sorry it’s a little blurred).

This was the last monthly meeting of the year and we now look forward to our Kick off Lunch on Sunday 19th January.

First NYD BH was 1974.
