Kennet Valley TR Group enjoy France and Rally des Tours, Chinon

Five Kennet Valley TR Group cars ventured again into France, taking the ferry from Portsmouth to Caen, stopping over and then travelling down past Le Mans to Tours stopping in a local hotel.

They all took part in Rally Touristique...Chinon Classic on the Saturday 22nd June....visiting two chateaus and a cave for banquette lunch...the rally was at least 80 kilometres long circling local country side....very beautiful part of Loire valley. Think about 170 cars of all ages over 40 years old. Quite a few British...

Sunday 23 we all took part in the parade around Chinon.....again huge amount of competitors and all the KVG members.....some cars were faster than others and it was hugely enjoyed by the men.....

Val and Den developed problems with their starter motor....which became a worry on return journey but we were greatly helped with support from Graham and Vikki Robertshaw.

They stayed in 3 different hotels and 2 nights in beautiful Chateau de Riviere at Chinon. Emrhys and Linda Barrell and Gerry and Moreen Thorne stayed on in chateau for several days longer and then came back via Port-en-Bessin-Huppain....

It was a very good trip and well worth doing
