Kennet Valley TR Group enjoy a Drive & Eat for their October Mid-Monthly

Kennet Valley TR Group enjoyed a nice drive through the Berkshire & Hampshire countryside to the Abbots Mitre Pub, Chilbolton, Hampshire.

After enjoying a chat and coffee a Tot Hill Services, 9 TR's, a Stag, 977 Porsche Turbo, Mercedes 350SL, Honda Civic R & Ford Focus carried 23 KVG, 2 WFTR and 2 guests thorough a slightly changed route (due to gravel from heavy rain) via Hurstbourne Tarrant, along the Bourne and Test valley's past the famous Watercress beds and under the viaduct in glorious Autumn sunshine.

Arriving at the Abbots Mitre at 13:00 for lunch, the cars squeezed in to the busy pub car park, expertly guided by the pub staff (thank you).

Sunday lunches ordered and the chat resumed, the very generous portions arrived and a 'hush' descended as everyone started to eat, Graham Robertshaw, still sporting his coveted rosette from Thatcham Fun day several years back eagerly tucked in.

After selecting deserts and enjoying even more generous portions, everyone made their way back home, no doubt the mpg was significantly less on the return after such a banquet, still TR engines can cope with that!Our next event is our Club Night on 7th November, where there will be a talk by Roger Day on the History of the AA in the Thames Valley.
