Super Day for 40 TR's at Classic & Motorsport Car Show Bicester
40 TR's from various Groups including, Chiltern, Birmingham, Coventry, Nene Valley, Kennet Valley, Vale of White Horse, Glavon (sorry if I missed any) attended this great new event which has form by the Classic & Sportscar Show merging with Flywheel and held at this tremendous venue Bicester Heritage.
The weather was also superb hitting 28C which meant lots of sunscreen and ice creams and the odd beer of course. The day included air display with a superb dog fight with WW1 bi & tri-planes with very real pyrotechnics adding to the effect.
The Battle of Britain memorial flight also gave a great performance looking ever majestic in the sky.
The was also classic cars on the track including the very rare and acclaimed Appleyards Rally Jaguars on a few and far between outing on the track.
Fiona Farrell's Beautifully restored and upgraded TR5, done by Bill Bourne and Paul Woodham, enter the 50 years of British Leyland concours contest.
There was very strong competition from other BL models such as Landcrab, Wolesley Allegro, Marina, TR6, TR7 and many others and the concours was deservedly won by a very genuine 1978 TR7 FHC automatic which has been well garaged and in as new original condition.
There were vintage racers from across the last century giving superb performances statically and on the track really giving the whole event superb atmosphere.
This event can only get better & better, the TR Register display was well noted and got great interest, I strongly suggest you try to go next year and sample this new 'Goodwood' in the making!
