Kennet Valley TR Group enjoy a sunny day at Woodley

Woodley Carnival was a very enjoyable day. Seven cars from Kennet Valley Group were joined by two from Windsor Forest, making a very good show of TR's and the two Stags. 60 or 70 other classic cars from various groups were there. The carnival procession featured the Carnival Queen riding on the back of Bill Bonney's Jaguar E Type roadster, the Carnival Princesses, various floats from local schools, cystic fibrosis, Woodley air cadets and other groups. There was a 1966 Batmobile, a local dance troup, Mods on their scooters, and the Dolphin Marching band.

The theme of the day was Heroes and Villains, and we were treated to a fly past by a Hurricane fighter. The field was packed with interesting stalls run by various charity groups, scouts, local football teams etc as well as local companies. There were dancing and gymnastic displays, and groups singing in the main arena, and a smaller arena for the dog show. There was a model railway exhibition, and Woodley flower club had a fantastic display.Later Maureen and Moreen each won a beautiful floral arrangement in the raffle.Kennet Valley TR Group has since received thanks from one of the organisers, "Dear Kennet Valley TR Group, Thank you so much for bringing those lovely 3s, 4s and 6s & Stags to Woodley Carnival yesterday; beautiful, and it made my day. Please come again! Best wishes Dave Hutchens."

A VERY BIG THANKS to Moreen & Gerry Thorne for write up and photos and also the photos from Linda & Emrhys Barrell
